Datura stramonium
Datura stramonium, commonly known as Jimson weed or thorn apple, is a flowering plant belonging to the nightshade family, Solanaceae. It is characterized by its large, trumpet-shaped white or purple flowers and spiky seed pods. This plant is native to North America but can be found in various regions worldwide, often in disturbed areas.
The entire plant contains toxic alkaloids, including atropine, scopolamine, and hyoscyamine, which can cause hallucinations and other severe effects if ingested. Due to its toxicity, Datura stramonium is often regarded with caution and is not recommended for use without proper knowledge and guidance.
