Data Interception
Data interception refers to the unauthorized access and capture of data as it is transmitted over a network. This can occur through various methods, such as packet sniffing, where tools analyze data packets traveling across the internet, or through man-in-the-middle attacks, where an attacker secretly relays and possibly alters communication between two parties.
The intercepted data can include sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card numbers, and personal messages. To protect against data interception, individuals and organizations often use encryption methods, like SSL/TLS, which secure data during transmission, making it difficult for unauthorized parties to read or manipulate the information.
