Daeva
A Daeva is a term from ancient Persian mythology, referring to a class of supernatural beings often associated with chaos and evil. In the context of Zoroastrianism, these entities are considered malevolent spirits that oppose the good spirit, Ahura Mazda. Daevas are typically depicted as deceptive and harmful, embodying various vices and negative traits.
In contrast to the benevolent Amesha Spentas, who represent divine qualities, Daevas symbolize the darker aspects of existence. They play a significant role in the cosmic struggle between good and evil, influencing human behavior and moral choices throughout the Zoroastrian belief system.
