DWR (Durable Water Repellent)
DWR, or Durable Water Repellent, is a treatment applied to fabrics to make them resistant to water. This coating helps prevent water from soaking into the material, allowing it to bead up and roll off instead. DWR is commonly used in outdoor gear, such as jackets and tents, to enhance their performance in wet conditions.
The effectiveness of DWR can diminish over time due to wear, washing, and exposure to dirt. To maintain its water-repellent properties, it is often recommended to reapply DWR treatments after several washes or when water no longer beads on the surface.
