DAS
DAS, or Direct Attached Storage, refers to a digital storage system that is directly connected to a computer or server. It typically uses interfaces like USB, SATA, or SAS to transfer data. DAS is commonly used for personal computers and small servers, providing a simple and cost-effective way to expand storage capacity.
Unlike Network Attached Storage (NAS), DAS does not connect to a network, making it less suitable for multiple users accessing data simultaneously. However, it offers faster data access speeds since it is directly linked to the host system. DAS is ideal for local backups and data-intensive applications.
