Cutaneous Lymphomas
Cutaneous lymphomas are a type of cancer that primarily affects the skin. They arise from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, and can manifest as rashes, lesions, or tumors on the skin. There are various subtypes, including mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome, which differ in their appearance and behavior.
These lymphomas can be classified as either primary, originating in the skin, or secondary, spreading from other parts of the body. Diagnosis typically involves a skin biopsy, and treatment options may include topical therapies, radiation, or systemic medications depending on the severity and type of the lymphoma.
