Custodial Parent
A custodial parent is the parent who has primary physical custody of a child after a separation or divorce. This means the child lives with this parent most of the time, and they are responsible for the child's daily care, education, and overall well-being. The custodial parent often makes important decisions regarding the child's life, such as health care and schooling.
In many cases, the other parent, known as the non-custodial parent, may have visitation rights and is typically responsible for paying child support. The arrangement aims to ensure that the child's needs are met while maintaining a relationship with both parents, fostering a supportive environment for the child's development.
