Cushing Lighthouse
Cushing Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on Cushing Island in Maine. Built in 1890, it was designed to guide ships safely through the Casco Bay area. The lighthouse stands 30 feet tall and features a distinctive white tower with a red lantern.
The lighthouse was automated in 1975, which means it no longer requires a keeper to operate. Today, it is maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard and remains an important navigational aid for mariners. Visitors can view the lighthouse from nearby areas, as it is not open to the public for tours.
