Cupid and Psyche
The story of Cupid and Psyche is a classic myth from ancient Roman literature. It tells the tale of Psyche, a beautiful mortal woman whose beauty rivals that of Venus, the goddess of love. Jealous of Psyche's charm, Venus sends her son Cupid to make her fall in love with a hideous creature. However, Cupid falls in love with Psyche instead and takes her to his hidden palace.
Psyche is forbidden to see Cupid's true form, but her curiosity leads her to betray him. After a series of trials set by Venus, Psyche proves her love and determination. Ultimately, Jupiter, the king of the gods, grants her immortality, allowing her to be with Cupid forever.
