Cuban Hutia
The Cuban Hutia is a large rodent native to the island of Cuba. It belongs to the family Capromyidae and is known for its stout body, short legs, and long tail. These animals typically inhabit forests and grasslands, where they feed on leaves, fruits, and bark.
Cuban Hutias are primarily nocturnal and are excellent climbers, often found in trees. They play a significant role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds. Due to habitat loss and hunting, some species of hutias are considered threatened or endangered.
