Croagh Patrick
Croagh Patrick is a prominent mountain located in County Mayo, Ireland. Standing at 764 meters (2,507 feet), it is known as a pilgrimage site, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The mountain is named after Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who is said to have fasted on its summit in the 5th century.
The climb to the top of Croagh Patrick is challenging but rewarding, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including Clew Bay. The trail is approximately 7.5 kilometers (4.7 miles) long and is often completed in a few hours. The annual pilgrimage, known as Reek Sunday, takes place on the last Sunday of July.
