Crested Serpent Eagle
The Crested Serpent Eagle is a large bird of prey found in tropical and subtropical forests across parts of Southeast Asia and India. It is easily recognizable by its distinctive crest of feathers on the head and its striking yellow eyes. This eagle primarily feeds on snakes, lizards, and small mammals, using its keen eyesight to spot prey from high perches.
These eagles typically nest in tall trees, building large stick nests. They are known for their loud, distinctive calls, which can be heard during the breeding season. The Crested Serpent Eagle plays an important role in controlling the population of its prey species in its ecosystem.
