Counties of Croatia
Croatia is divided into 20 counties, known as županije, which serve as the primary administrative divisions. Each county has its own government and is responsible for local administration, education, and infrastructure. The capital city, Zagreb, is also a separate administrative unit and is not part of any county.
The counties vary in size and population, with Zagreb County being the most populous. Other notable counties include Split-Dalmatia County, known for its coastal tourism, and Istria County, famous for its wine and olive oil production. Each county has unique cultural and historical significance, contributing to Croatia's diverse heritage.
