županije
Županije are administrative regions in Croatia, serving as the second level of government below the national level. There are 20 županije, each with its own local government and responsibilities, including education, transportation, and health services.
Each županija is further divided into municipalities and cities, which help manage local affairs. The capital of Croatia, Zagreb, is also a separate administrative unit, functioning independently from the županije system. This structure allows for localized governance and better representation of regional interests.
