Costa Rican Healthcare
Costa Rica has a universal healthcare system known as Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), which provides medical services to all citizens and legal residents. Funded by taxes, this system ensures access to a wide range of healthcare services, including preventive care, hospital treatment, and emergency services.
In addition to the public system, there are private healthcare options available, which offer faster service and more specialized care. Many Costa Ricans choose to use both systems, benefiting from the affordability of public healthcare while accessing private services when needed.
