Correctional Officers
Correctional officers are responsible for overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to serve time in a correctional facility. Their primary duties include maintaining order, enforcing rules, and ensuring the safety of both inmates and staff. They monitor inmate behavior, conduct searches, and respond to emergencies.
In addition to security tasks, correctional officers also play a role in rehabilitation by facilitating programs and activities that promote positive behavior. They often work closely with social workers and psychologists to support inmates' reintegration into society upon release.
