Corneal Arcus
Corneal Arcus is a condition characterized by a gray or white ring that forms around the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. This ring is made up of cholesterol deposits and is often seen in older adults. While it is usually harmless and does not affect vision, its presence can sometimes indicate high cholesterol levels or other health issues.
In younger individuals, Corneal Arcus may suggest an underlying health problem, such as familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic disorder that leads to high cholesterol. Regular eye examinations can help monitor this condition and assess overall eye health.
