Coricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, was one of the most important temples in the Inca Empire, located in Cusco, Peru. It was dedicated to the worship of the sun god, Inti, and served as a significant religious and cultural center for the Incas.
The temple was renowned for its impressive architecture and the use of gold, which adorned its walls. After the Spanish conquest, much of the temple was destroyed, and a colonial church, Santo Domingo, was built on its foundations, blending Inca and Spanish influences in a unique way.
