Cordyceps
Cordyceps is a genus of parasitic fungi known for infecting insects and other arthropods. These fungi grow inside their hosts, eventually killing them and producing fruiting bodies that emerge from the host's body. There are over 400 species of Cordyceps, with Cordyceps sinensis being the most well-known for its traditional use in medicine.
In addition to its ecological role, Cordyceps has gained popularity in health supplements due to its potential benefits. Some studies suggest it may enhance athletic performance, boost energy levels, and support immune function. However, more research is needed to fully understand its effects on human health.
