Copper Carbonate
Copper carbonate is a chemical compound with the formula CuCO₃. It typically appears as a blue-green solid and is commonly found in nature as the mineral malachite. This compound is often used in various applications, including as a pigment in ceramics and glass, and in the production of copper salts.
When heated, copper carbonate decomposes to form copper oxide and carbon dioxide gas. This property makes it useful in certain chemical reactions and processes. Additionally, copper carbonate can be used in agriculture as a fungicide and in the preparation of other copper compounds.
