Congressional Black Caucus
The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) is a group of African American members of the United States Congress. Established in 1971, its primary goal is to address the legislative concerns of Black Americans and promote social justice, economic equality, and civil rights. The CBC works to influence policy and advocate for issues affecting the African American community.
The CBC consists of both members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. It plays a significant role in shaping legislation related to education, healthcare, and criminal justice reform. The caucus also collaborates with other organizations to amplify its impact on national issues affecting the African American population.
