Confederation of African Athletics
The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) is the governing body for athletics in Africa. Established in 1973, it oversees the organization and promotion of track and field events across the continent. The CAA is responsible for setting rules, organizing competitions, and developing athletics programs to enhance the sport's popularity and performance in Africa.
The CAA also works closely with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to ensure that African athletes have opportunities to compete at international levels. It organizes major events, including the African Championships in Athletics, which showcases the continent's top talent and fosters athletic development.
