Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde is a federally recognized tribe located in Oregon, formed in 1857. The tribe consists of several Native American groups, including the Kalapuya, Molalla, and Chinook peoples, who were historically connected to the Willamette Valley and surrounding areas.
In 1983, the tribe regained its federal recognition after years of efforts to restore its status. Today, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde focus on cultural preservation, economic development, and community services, including education and health programs, to support their members and promote their heritage.
