Confederate General Braxton Bragg
Braxton Bragg was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, known for his role in several key battles. Born on March 22, 1817, in North Carolina, he graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1837. Bragg served in the Mexican-American War before becoming a prominent military leader for the Confederacy.
Bragg commanded the Army of Tennessee and led troops in significant battles, including the Battle of Chickamauga and the Battle of Chattanooga. Despite his military experience, he faced criticism for his leadership style and decisions, which affected his reputation and effectiveness as a commander. He died on September 27, 1876.
