Conducted Energy Devices
Conducted Energy Devices (CEDs) are tools used by law enforcement and security personnel to incapacitate individuals temporarily. They deliver an electric shock to disrupt muscle control, allowing officers to subdue a person without causing permanent harm. The most well-known CED is the Taser, which can be deployed from a distance using projectiles or in close range as a handheld device.
CEDs are designed to be less lethal than traditional firearms, providing an alternative for situations where physical force may be necessary. However, their use is subject to regulations and guidelines to ensure safety and minimize risks to both the user and the individual being subdued.
