Condor
The condor is a large bird known for its impressive wingspan, which can reach up to 10 feet. It primarily inhabits mountainous regions in the Americas, particularly in the Andes and along the California coast. Condors are scavengers, feeding mainly on carrion, and play a crucial role in their ecosystems by helping to clean up dead animals.
There are two main species of condors: the California condor and the Andean condor. The California condor is critically endangered, with conservation efforts in place to protect its population. In contrast, the Andean condor is more widespread, although it also faces threats from habitat loss and hunting.
