Conaf
Conaf, or the National Forestry Corporation, is a Chilean government agency responsible for the management and protection of the country's forests and natural resources. Established in 1974, its primary mission is to promote sustainable forest management, conservation of biodiversity, and the restoration of degraded ecosystems.
The agency also plays a crucial role in preventing and combating forest fires, which are a significant threat to Chile's diverse landscapes. Conaf works in collaboration with local communities, private landowners, and other organizations to ensure the sustainable use of forest resources and to enhance environmental education.
