Common Wombat
The Common Wombat is a burrowing marsupial native to Australia. It has a stocky body, short legs, and a distinctive, broad head. Wombats are primarily nocturnal and spend much of their time digging extensive tunnel systems in the ground. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on grasses, roots, and bark.
Common wombats can weigh between 20 to 35 kilograms and measure about 1 meter in length. They have a unique backward-facing pouch that protects their young while digging. These animals are known for their strong, sturdy build and can live up to 15 years in the wild.
