Common Tree Frog
The Common Tree Frog (Hyla cinerea) is a small amphibian found primarily in the southeastern United States. It typically measures about 1.5 to 2.5 inches in length and is known for its bright green color, although it can also appear in shades of brown or gray. This frog prefers habitats near water, such as swamps, marshes, and ponds, where it can easily find food and breeding sites.
These frogs are nocturnal and are most active at night, using their vocalizations to attract mates. Their diet mainly consists of insects, making them beneficial for controlling pest populations. The Common Tree Frog is also recognized for its ability to climb, thanks to its adhesive toe pads, which help it navigate trees and shrubs.
