Common Sandpiper
The Common Sandpiper (*Actitis hypoleucos*) is a small wading bird found across Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. It typically inhabits the edges of rivers, lakes, and coastal areas, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. This bird is easily recognized by its distinctive brown upperparts, white underparts, and a characteristic bobbing motion while walking.
During the breeding season, the Common Sandpiper builds its nest on rocky shores or in vegetation near water. It is known for its migratory behavior, traveling to warmer regions in winter. The species is often seen alone or in small groups, making it a familiar sight for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
