Common Crane
The Common Crane (Grus grus) is a large bird known for its long legs and neck, typically measuring about 100 to 120 centimeters in height. It has a distinctive gray plumage, with a black crown and a red patch on its head. These cranes are found across Europe and Asia, often migrating to warmer regions during winter.
Common Cranes are social birds, usually seen in pairs or small groups. They inhabit wetlands, grasslands, and agricultural fields, where they feed on seeds, grains, and small invertebrates. Their elaborate courtship displays, which include dancing and calling, are a notable aspect of their behavior.
