Combined Defence Services
The Combined Defence Services (CDS) is an examination conducted in India for the recruitment of officers into the Indian Armed Forces, which includes the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and is aimed at graduates who aspire to serve in the military. Successful candidates undergo training at various military academies, such as the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and the Indian Naval Academy (INA).
The CDS exam consists of a written test followed by an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). The written test evaluates candidates on subjects like English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. Those who pass the exam and SSB interview are eligible for commission as officers, contributing to the defense and security of the nation.
