Colegiata
A "Colegiata" is a type of church or religious institution in Spain and some other countries, typically associated with a collegiate community of clergy. These establishments often serve as important centers for worship and community gatherings, featuring significant architectural styles, including Gothic and Romanesque.
Colegiatas usually have a chapter of canons who are responsible for the daily liturgical services and the administration of the church. They may also house valuable art and historical artifacts, making them important cultural sites. Notable examples include the Colegiata de San Isidoro in León and the Colegiata de Santa María in Alcalá de Henares.
