Cohanim
Cohanim, or priests in Judaism, are descendants of Aaron, the brother of Moses. They have specific religious duties, including performing rituals in the Temple and blessing the congregation during certain prayers. Their lineage is important, as only those who can trace their ancestry back to Aaron are considered Cohanim.
Cohanim have unique roles in Jewish life, such as the Birkat Kohanim, or the Priestly Blessing, which is recited during synagogue services. They also have restrictions regarding marriage and certain forms of ritual impurity. Their status is recognized in many Jewish communities around the world.
