Coalition of the Radical Left
The Coalition of the Radical Left, known as SYRIZA, is a political party in Greece that emerged in the early 2000s. It is primarily known for its leftist ideology, advocating for social justice, anti-austerity measures, and the protection of workers' rights. SYRIZA gained significant attention during the Greek debt crisis, positioning itself as a voice for those opposing harsh economic reforms.
In 2015, SYRIZA won the national elections, leading to the formation of a government under Alexis Tsipras. The party aimed to renegotiate Greece's bailout terms with international creditors. However, it faced challenges in balancing its radical agenda with the realities of governance and economic pressures.
