Clovis
The term "Clovis" primarily refers to a prehistoric culture in North America, known for its distinctive stone tools. This culture emerged around 13,000 years ago and is named after the Clovis site in New Mexico, where these tools were first discovered. Clovis people are believed to have been among the earliest inhabitants of North America, primarily hunting large game like mammoths and bison.
In addition to the archaeological culture, "Clovis" is also the name of a historical figure, Clovis I, the first king of the Franks to unite all the Frankish tribes under one ruler in the late 5th and early 6th centuries. He is known for his conversion to Christianity, which helped to spread the religion throughout his kingdom and laid the foundation for the future Holy Roman Empire.
