Clive Granger
Clive Granger was a renowned British economist, best known for his work in the field of time series analysis. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2003, alongside Robert Engle, for their contributions to understanding economic relationships over time. Granger's innovative methods helped economists analyze and predict economic trends more effectively.
Born on September 4, 1934, in Wales, Granger spent much of his academic career at University of California, San Diego. His research focused on the statistical properties of economic data, leading to the development of the Granger causality concept, which helps determine whether one time series can predict another.
