Classical Mongolian script
Classical Mongolian script is a vertical writing system used primarily for the Mongolian language. Developed in the 13th century, it was derived from the Uighur script and is characterized by its flowing, cursive style. The script is written from top to bottom and left to right, making it unique among many writing systems.
This script was historically used in various forms across the Mongolian Empire and remains important in Mongolian culture today. Although it has been largely replaced by the Cyrillic alphabet in modern Mongolia, efforts are being made to revive and promote the use of Classical Mongolian script in education and literature.
