Class 58
The Class 58 is a type of diesel-electric locomotive built in the United Kingdom. Introduced in the late 1970s, these locomotives were designed primarily for freight services. They are known for their distinctive design and powerful engines, which allow them to haul heavy loads efficiently.
A total of 50 units were produced by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at the Doncaster Works. The Class 58 features a cab at one end and a large, boxy body, making it easily recognizable. Although they are less common today, some units remain in service with various freight operators.
