Clashing Rocks
The "Clashing Rocks," also known as the Symplegades, are two rocky cliffs located at the entrance of the Bosporus Strait in Turkey. In ancient mythology, these rocks were said to crash together, crushing anything that attempted to pass between them. Sailors feared the rocks, as they posed a significant danger to navigation in the area.
In the myth of Jason and the Argonauts, the hero Jason successfully navigated the Clashing Rocks by sending a dove through the narrow passage. When the rocks crashed together, they only crushed the dove, allowing Jason and his crew to pass safely. This tale symbolizes overcoming obstacles and the importance of cleverness in the face of danger.
