Clare Island Lighthouse
Clare Island Lighthouse is located on Clare Island, off the coast of County Mayo, Ireland. Built in 1818, it was designed to guide ships safely through the Clew Bay area. The lighthouse stands at 18 meters tall and features a distinctive white tower with a red band.
The lighthouse was automated in 1965, which reduced the need for a resident keeper. Today, it is a popular destination for visitors who enjoy hiking and exploring the island's natural beauty. The surrounding area is rich in wildlife and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
