Clara of Assisi
Clara of Assisi was an Italian saint born in 1194 in Assisi. She was inspired by the teachings of Saint Francis of Assisi and became a follower of his ideals. Clara founded the Order of Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares, which emphasized a life of poverty, prayer, and community.
Clara's commitment to her faith and her dedication to serving others made her a significant figure in the Franciscan movement. She is known for her strong leadership and her role in establishing a monastic community for women. Clara was canonized as a saint in 1255 and is celebrated on August 11.
