Cibachrome
Cibachrome is a photographic printing process known for its vibrant colors and durability. It uses a dye-bleach method to produce high-quality prints from color transparencies, making it popular among professional photographers and artists. The process involves exposing a special paper to light through a transparency, followed by a series of chemical treatments.
Originally developed in the 1960s by Ciba-Geigy, Cibachrome prints are resistant to fading and can last for decades without significant color loss. Although it has been largely replaced by digital printing methods, Cibachrome remains valued for its unique qualities and is still used by some enthusiasts and professionals in the photography community.
