Christina Olson
Christina Olson was an American woman born in 1893 in Cushing, Maine. She is best known for being the subject of the famous painting "Christina's World" by artist Andrew Wyeth. The painting depicts her in a field, looking toward her family home, and it has become an iconic representation of longing and isolation.
Olson suffered from a degenerative muscular condition that left her unable to walk. Despite her physical challenges, she lived a full life on her family's farm, where she developed a close relationship with Wyeth, who often visited her. Her story and spirit continue to resonate through art and literature.
