Chosen People
The term "Chosen People" refers to a group believed to be selected by a divine power for a special purpose. In the context of Judaism, it specifically denotes the Israelites, who are considered to have a unique covenant with God as described in the Hebrew Bible. This belief emphasizes their role in fulfilling divine commandments and serving as a light to other nations.
Other religious traditions also have similar concepts, where certain groups are seen as favored or set apart for specific missions. For example, in Christianity, the idea of being chosen can relate to the followers of Jesus Christ, who are called to spread his teachings.
