Chondroma
A chondroma is a benign tumor made up of cartilage tissue. It typically occurs in the bones, particularly in the hands, feet, and long bones. Chondromas can be asymptomatic, meaning they may not cause any noticeable symptoms, but they can sometimes lead to pain or swelling in the affected area.
These tumors are generally slow-growing and are often discovered incidentally during imaging studies for other conditions. Treatment usually involves surgical removal if the chondroma causes discomfort or affects mobility. Regular monitoring may be recommended for asymptomatic cases to ensure they do not grow or change.
