Choden
Choden is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice that involves the creation of intricate sand mandalas. These mandalas are designed to represent the universe and are often used in rituals to promote healing and meditation. The process of making a sand mandala is meticulous, requiring patience and precision, as colored sands are poured into specific patterns.
Once completed, the mandala is usually destroyed in a ceremonial act to symbolize the impermanence of life. The sand is often collected and dispersed in a body of water, which is believed to spread the blessings of the mandala. This practice reflects core Buddhist teachings on impermanence and mindfulness.
