Chinese politics
Chinese politics is primarily governed by the Communist Party of China (CPC), which has been in power since 1949. The CPC controls the state, military, and media, ensuring that its policies and leadership are upheld. The political system is characterized by a one-party rule, meaning that no other political parties can challenge the CPC's authority.
The highest decision-making body in China is the National People's Congress (NPC), which meets annually to discuss and approve legislation. While the NPC is technically the legislative branch, real power lies with the Politburo and its Standing Committee, where key leaders make important policy decisions behind closed doors.
