Chinese constellations
Chinese constellations are a part of traditional Chinese astronomy, which categorizes the night sky into various star groups. Unlike Western constellations, which are based on Greek mythology, Chinese constellations often relate to agricultural practices, folklore, and historical figures. The Chinese sky is divided into 28 lunar mansions, which serve as a framework for navigation and timekeeping.
These constellations are also linked to the Chinese zodiac, with each of the twelve zodiac animals corresponding to specific stars and celestial events. The study of these constellations has influenced Chinese culture, art, and literature for centuries, reflecting the importance of astronomy in ancient Chinese society.
