Chinese Nationalist Army
The Chinese Nationalist Army (CNA), also known as the National Revolutionary Army, was the military force of the Kuomintang (KMT) during the early to mid-20th century. It played a crucial role in the fight against warlords and the Japanese invasion during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The CNA aimed to unify China and establish a strong, centralized government.
After the end of World War II, the CNA faced a civil war against the Communist Party of China (CPC). Despite initial successes, the army struggled with issues like corruption and lack of popular support. Ultimately, the CNA retreated to Taiwan in 1949, where it continued to exist as the military of the Republic of China.
